What's a "label batch?"
A label batch is started when you select one or more orders in Shopify and choose the "Print Labels" item from the bulk actions drop-down on your order screen in the Shopify admin back-end. Each label batch contains both shipping and return address labels for each order selected. The return labels can be optionally disabled.
How do I print label batches?
Once a label batch is finished processing a link to download a generated PDF file appears next to the label batch. Once you download the labels, you can print them with any PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader. In some cases your browser may automatically recognize the PDF file and open it for preview, in which case you can print them directly from within your browser.
Can I use DYMO Label printers?
DYMO labels can be printed using the DYMO Label software, which you can download here.
Instead of downloading the PDF file, download the CSV and import it into DYMO Label. Instructions on how to do that can be found on the official DYMO website. There's also some good YouTube tutorials that show how to import the data.
How long does a label batch take to process?
This depends on how many labels you're printing per batch. If you are only printing a few orders, they can be ready almost instantly. If you select a hundred or so orders, it could take several minutes.
Will I be notified when the batch is ready to download?
If you keep your browser window open the download link will automatically appear next to the batch when it's ready. If you don't feel like waiting, you can close the browser window, or just navigate to another section in your shop, and you will receive an email notification. You will not receive the notification if you leave the app open in your browser.
Which email address will the batches be emailed to?
They will be emailed to the same address that you used when you signed up to Shopify.
What do I do if the label batch never finishes or fails to process?
If the label batch never seems to finish processing, first try refreshing your browser to make sure it's not a bad connection. If that doesn't work, delete the label batch and try again. If you still don't have any success, email us at email@example.com, and let us know about the issue. We will try to resolve it as soon as possible.
